Planned Improvements

When fully developed, the facilities at Kan Yama Kan Village will include the following:

Conference Center

lecture at E3OP conference

Our facilities are designed to accommodate large groups for meetings and conferences

A multipurpose conference center will be built to accommodate workshops, conferences and cultural events that serve local, national and regional needs. The location of this new conference center in Beni Suef, which will accommodate 200 people, will enhance the carrying capacity of the governorate to host and house important events. Primarily constructed from locally available materials, the conference facilities will include 100 two-bedroom units and a business center, and be equipped with state-of-the-art communication equipment.

Administration Building

An important function of the Mediterranean Center in Beni Suef will be to provide the public with an opportunity to learn more about sustainable development and environmentally sound technologies. As such, an information and welcome desk will be staffed to provide visitors to the Mediterranean Center with an orientation to the facilities and the overall concept of the project. All visitors will complete a brief orientation to the Mediterranean Center and agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the premises that are designed to protect the environment and ensure the welfare and safety of all living things on the property.

All administrative functions for the Mediterranean Center will be housed in this building including finance and accounting, administration, public relations and human resources. An electronic library will also be located in the administration building.

Community Technology Center

In recognition of the essential role information and communication technologies play in sustainable development, our latest nonprofit initiative is to establish a Community Technology Center (CTC) at our site. In addition to providing Internet access and workshops for basic technical skills, the CTC will focus on empowering youth and adults to improve their own communities through the use of technology. Hands-on educational activities developed by the CTC will allow participants to explore linkages between computers and the environment, good governance and the Internet, and digital media and social change (just to name a few). By teaching technology as an integral component of any solution to the global challenges we face, we are aiming to prepare the next generation of problem-solvers to leverage all the tools they will have at their disposal.
