Directions to MCSDP

Depart Maadi on the autostrade heading to Helwan:

  1. Continue straight passing 15 May City toward Korymat and the new road constructed by the Army (green signs on autostrade)
  2. The driver will pass under a sign for a cement factory that has a pipe for transporting cement (national cement company)
  3. Just after this pipe (which is above your head) bear right following the green road sign to Korymat
  4. Take the road to the Helwan toll booth and keep straight until you exit the toll road at the Beni Suef toll booth (end of the toll road)
  5. Follow the road until you arrive at a roundabout with three turn offs: one for Korymat, one for Beni Suef and the last one for Minia.
  6. Take the turn off for Minia, yes, Minia. This is the Cairo-Minia Desert Highway.
  7. Continue straight several kilometers until you come to the first police check point  Al Mossalas
  8. Continue straight 13.5 km.
  9. On the right there is a freshly painted red and yellow cafe-restaurant for truck drivers, then a small ambulance station with a sign, and a noticeable electricity pole.
  10. Turn right immediately after the pole down a small embankment toward a very large white wall that has a sign for our Center above the blue gate.
  11. If you pass a Coop gas station on the right, you just went TOO FAR, turn back.
  12. The center is sandwiched between the ambulance station and the gas station.

If you are driving the allowable speed by car it takes 1.5 hours from Carrefour to the Center. Otherwise, if you are driving a bus will take about 2 hours. The toll road costs LE 10 for buses (each way) and LE 5 for cars.
