Directions to MCSDP

Depart Maadi on the autostrade heading to Helwan:

  1. Continue straight passing 15 May City toward Korymat and the new road constructed by the Army (green signs on autostrade)
  2. The driver will pass under a sign for a cement factory that has a pipe for transporting cement (national cement company)
  3. Just after this pipe (which is above your head) bear right following the green road sign to Korymat
  4. Take the road to the Helwan toll booth and keep straight until you exit the toll road at the Korymat toll booth (end of the toll road)
  5. The road curves right, continue on the road until you come to a large roundabout
  6. Stay to the left, there is a sign in Arabic for Beni Suef, so you are going toward Beni Suef now
  7. Continue straight until you come to the first police check point  Al Alalama
  8. Continue straight. You will pass a gas station on the left. Continue straight. When you come to the second gas station on the left, Blue COOP gas station, there is a sign in Arabic for Minia to the left.
  9. Turn LEFT. Do NOT go straight to Beni Suef.
  10. The Center is on the Minia Desert Road
  11. Take the road to Minia until you reach another police checkpoint, El Mussalas
  12. Continue straight 13.5 km.
  13. On the right there is a small ambulance station with a sign, turn right down a small embankment toward a very large white wall that has a sign for our Center above the blue gate.
  14. If you pass another gas station on the right, you just went TOO FAR, turn back.
  15. The center is sandwiched between the ambulance station and the gas station.

If you are driving the allowable speed by car it takes 1.5 hours from Carrefour to the Center. Otherwise, if you are driving a bus will take about 2 hours. The toll road costs LE 10 for buses (each way) and LE 5 for cars.
