Partner Organizations & Schools
El Alsson British and American International School
MCSDP is proud to be associated with El Alsson. Since opening our doors to schools in 2006, El Alsson has sent students from the British, American, and Sixth Form programs. Whether it is revising for science exams in our unique outdoor environment, teambuilding with sixth graders new to the American system, or providing leadership training for the Sixth Form students, MCSDP enables youth to become stronger global citizens.
American International School
Good governance is at the heart of sustainable development. Together with high school student leaders active on the Student Council, MCSDP facilitated the drafting of mission and vision statements for student government. MCSDP provided the students with the necessary "tools" through an interactive workshop emphasizing long-term planning and sustainable decision making processes.
The British School in Cairo
The impact of working with BSC students over the past two years is evident when you visit their school. After participating in MCSDP activities in Beni Suef, elementary students have established the first after-school club – the BSC Green Team. This team that meets regularly has already started a school recycling campaign and has entered the "enviro-rap" that they invented at our camp into a contest at Earth Day celebrations this year.
Cairo American College
MCSDP has welcomed three groups of CAC students in the past two years as part of the high school Week Without Walls program and the middle school Environmental Action class. The students have contributed to the community and the Center by working with a local orphanage, creating habitats for our tortoises and rabbits, beautifying our facilities with murals that communicate our environmental message, and enriching our biodiversity with a drought-resistant cactus garden.
Canadian International School in Egypt
MCSDP has worked with CISE for the past two years to help them bring alive their curricular commitment to sustainability. Students from grades 4, 5, & 6 have participated in innovative hands-on activities designed to move their learning from the classroom to the real-world environment.
Girl Scouts Overseas
Leadership, environmental stewardship, and self-reliance are at the core of the Girl Scout experience. Bound by these shared values and a commitment to gender equality, MCSDP is proud to host the American Girl Scouts Overseas' annual camping weekend at our Center.
Modern Education School
The creative teaching staff of MES has sought ways in conjunction with MCSDP to extend their curriculum beyond textbook lessons and provide their students with an outdoor education experience that strengthens the topics studied in the classroom, including awareness of their cultural identity, preventing global warming and climate change, understanding the environmental Carbon cycle, and minimizing our ecological footprint.
Modern English School
Each year, MES Year 7 students visit Kan Yama Kan Village for a cross-curricular camp. This thematic program pulls together activities across the disciplines from science and art to drama, geography, and history that enable students to link learning to the natural environment. IB students also benefitted from workshops on environmental action planning as part of their Creativity, Action, and Service requirements.
What Does Partnership Mean to Us?
In today's world, networking and partnerships are critical tools for communicating ideas and getting things done. Over the past five years, ever since MCSDP was a plan on the drawing board, we have met hundreds of educators, business owners, international consultants and government officials who share our values and believe in our vision for a sustainable future.
Good partnerships are key in planting the seeds of a sustainable future
MCSDP is interested in forming partnerships with like-minded organizations and institutions that can best utilize our facilities and maximize our impact through our combined expertise. In particular, we welcome NGOs, schools and other youth organizations dedicated to life skills enhancement and capacity building, civic education, character building and leadership, environmental management, biodiversity and conservation, and sustainable development to join us in developing and implementing innovative new programs that reach beyond our national borders.
Join us now in building a sustainable future. Contact us today with your vision for creating a win-win partnership with the Mediterranean Center for Sustainable Development Programs. We are waiting to hear from you!
