end quote

Sustainable development requires a fundamental change in the decision-making process at the individual, corporate, and government levels. Presently development is gauged predominantly by its economic impact without taking into consideration its social or environmental impact. Sustainable development requires that economic, social, and environmental issues be factored into the decision making process. It provides a comprehensive integrated planning approach, which takes future generations and their needs into consideration. From changing consumption patterns, protecting human health, and conserving biological diversity to technology transfer, human capacity building, and developing national sustainable development strategies, every facet of society has an important contribution to make.

MCSDP recognizes that each country and community in the Mediterranean Basin has a unique political, social, economic, historical, and cultural identity. Within these parameters we assist clients and stakeholders to formulate policies and develop action plans that recognize the relationship between prosperity, environment, and fairness, while promoting best practices for sustainable development at the national and local levels.
